Another hike in Starkey Park

Saturday we enjoyed another hike in Starkey Park. The boys have so much fun exploring the great outdoors. Ben was being a little ham for the camera!

Sam's new big boy bed!

Sam's request for a big boy bed has finally been granted! When we returned from vacation this summer, after sleeping in a regular bed for quite a few days, Sam had some opinions on his crib " I don't want to sleep in a baby crib anymore, I want to sleep in a big boy bed"! His bed will eventually become a bunk bed for he and Nick to share. Sam's parents are not ready to take on that adventure, quite yet!

Morning Dove Horse Farm

We toured a therapeutic horse farm with our mom's group this week. The boys got a chance to learn about horses, pet them and even give them some treats. Nick got a chance to become reacquainted with an old friend- Howie. Nick rode Howie last year at the Trader's Point Horse Show. Howie is spoken about quite frequently in our home so it was so much fun to get to see him again!

Happy Birthday Grandma Bonnie!

We had Grandma, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins over to celebrate Grandma's birthday this weekend. The grownups took Grandma out for a night on the town, but not before the kids test drove the limo! This was Nick, Sam and Ben's first limo ride! They thought it was very cool!

Hiking in Starkey Park

We took a hike on a local trail in Starkey Park last week. Nick, Sam and Ben enjoyed exploring the great outdoors and even made friends with a toad. But I think their favorite part about the trail was the trail mix they snacked on!

White River Garden State Park

The boys recently took a trip to downtown Indy to check out the butterfly exhibit at the White River Gardens. After chasing a few butterflies around we took advantage of the beautiful day and went for a walk across the White River bridge. Their favorite kind of art was on display for them to check out.

First days of school!

Preschool is underway in the Horn home! Nick and Sam are enjoying going to school again and seeing all of their friends while Ben is adjusting to his new day out and meeting many new friends. Thursdays are very quiet at our home now!

Indiana State Fair

Corn dogs, elephant ears, lemon shake ups, ice cream, pony rides, farm animals, and the big slide. We did it all at the state fair this year! The boys loved the day we spent there!

A visit with our friend Sarah

We traveled to the Chicago area to visit our friend Sarah and her mom Meg. The highlight of the trip was going to a restaurant where a train brought us our food! What a hit! We also spent a day at Brookfield zoo visiting lots of animals.

Cousins

Cousins are so much fun to play with! We had a visit from our cousins, Emily, Jack and Grace in mid August. We took a trip to the zoo and to the children's museum. All the kids play so well together and really enjoy each others' company!

Backyard camping

Our first adventures in camping with the boys was in early August in our backyard. It was just "roughing it" enough for everyone! Ben actually slept in his bed that night while Nick and Sam got to experience the joy of staying up late and roasting marshmallows! They got a kick out of setting them on fire! That could be trouble in the future! Ben is becoming more and more interested in trains. He's found the best way to play trains is to sit right in the middle of the track!
