Emily and Matthew, happily ever after!

Our cousin Emily married Matthew in a beautiful ceremony in Illinois.  Eric, Sam, Ben and I attended.  Nick unfortunately wasn't able to, he stayed behind for a soccer tournament.  

We had a super fun time celebrating with the couple and catching up with lots of family.

Homecoming

The Homecoming dance was held at the football stadium, outdoors.  Nick took Phoebe and Sam took a friend, Sadie.  A good time was had by all!  The parents and kids gathered beforehand for pictures in this beautiful backyard!

Senior Night

Senior night for the soccer season was quite special.  We were given a poster board ahead of time to decorate with pictures from our player's youth which were on display at the stadium.  We had an opportunity to get a family picture from a local photographer.  It was a very sunny evening!  Before the game started all of the senior players and their families walked out onto the field to be recognized.  Nick prerecorded a speech about his favorite memories from his soccer days, accomplishments on and off the pitch and plans for the future.  Then they played the game and won handedly!

All soccer

The school soccer season goes by so quickly.  Nick played so well and had so much fun playing with his friends and Eric and I loved going to the games.

This was my favorite game of the season.  Zionsville played so well and defeated their rival, Noblesville in a very exciting game!  Many of the players know each other well as some of them play together on club teams, which makes it that much more fun playing against one another on the pitch!

Nick had a few good saves, including this one that was on the local newspaper's social media page! 

 

He's Back!

After a long 7 months of recovery, Nick is back on the pitch!  

And we couldn't be happier.

  Nick had a setback in February with healing of his back and has been working with a physical therapist to get back to health again.  He missed the very beginning of the soccer season but he's ready and able to play now!

Dog Days of Summer

School is just beginning, but there are still long and sun shining days!

She loves to sit right on the edge on the pool to monitor all that is taking place in her backyard.  

Eric, Ben and I attended the NHRA Hot Rod Nationals.  It was quite the experience watching these crazy cars drag race on the straightaway.  You could feel the motor in your chest!  

We saw Pearl Jam at the outdoor concert venue, it was a good concert, they put on a great show.  

A beautiful sunset cruise with Dan and Deena who came for a weekend visit.

Fall Festival in our sweet little town.  Nick's girlfriend, Phoebe performed with the Show Choir from the high school.  They sounded great!
