Last day of school!

Summer is here. 

 And we are ready!

This was the fastest school year yet.  We say goodbye to our favorite elementary school, Eagle Elementary and a lot of favorite, special teachers, too.

Last day of 5th and 6th grades.

The tradition for the 4th grade class is to walk the halls one more time and parade down the sidewalk with all of the parents cheering.  It's bitter sweet.  

Ben's buddies came over after school to celebrate the start of summer.

Indy 500!

We seem to have a new tradition in our family, attending the Indy 500 race!  

Rain was predicted for the day but in the end the weather was just perfect!  A few clouds kept the temperature down and no rain!

We had the same seats as last year, covered at the end of pit row.  The boys enjoyed watching the cars pit and have 4 tires changed and gassed up in 8 seconds! 

Simon Pagenaud was the winner this year.  

Before the race we divided up the drivers among us and Nick had Simon.  Nick wins our family contest and gets to choose a family night out sometime soon, and the rest of us have to go along and can't complain about what he chooses!

It's May!

The month of May is quite active around here!

Nick and Sam had their final band concert for the year.  It was a combined 5/6 grade band concert.  They played so well and I truly enjoyed the music!

All of our hard work from the past 2 years of volunteering together at the school has paid off!

Ben participated in his last elementary school fair, the Hoosier Wax Museum.  He has spent the past 2 months learning about our 23rd president.  He wrote a report and presented a speech all about President Harrison's life.
Out of all of the special fairs that take place in elementary school, I think that this one is my favorite!

May consisted of  a lot of baseball games.  This was a tournament held over the Memorial Day weekend.  They didn't have any wins but sure did have fun playing and making memories with their teams!

The boys waited a few months to use their Christmas gifts from Uncle Aaron and Aunt Angela!  They love the snorkel, mask and fins.  It's their new favorite pool toy.

Mother's Day

I always dreamed of being a mom.

It turned out to be a rainy day and all the baseball games were cancelled.  We had a lazy day inside.  Eric and the boys cooked all the meals while I relaxed.

Alex and Angela get married!

Our nephew, and Godson, Alex married Angela on May 4th.  We were excited to be there to celebrate their holy matrimony.  

They got married in the same church that Eric and I were married in 24 years ago, St. Mary's.  My parents were also married here, as well as all of my siblings!  We were all baptized here as well!

The boys, looking all spiffy!, were asked to hand out the wedding programs.  

It was a beautiful ceremony.  Afterwards we took a few family pictures.

At the reception they were honored with being the longest married couple in the room, 58 blissful years of marriage!  Such an inspiration to the rest of us.

The wedding party played along with the date of May the 4th and the Star Wars connection.

Somehow Eric and I got to sit alone, without our children for dinner.  They sat with Uncle John and Aunt Chrislynn and their cousins.

It was fun watching them interact with their cousins.

We danced the night away and had so much fun!

Chrislynn and Angela happened to also find beautiful dresses at Kohl's!  We all had such a laugh over this!

Really, I think we all secretly wished to be bridesmaids one more time!  Ha!
