Nature trail hike

We ended our week last Friday with a small nature hike at Lions Park, a local park.  The boys had so much fun throwing rock and sticks into the creek!  It was a great way to spend the afternoon!

 

 

Sam and Ben's first day of preschool

Tuesday was Sam and Ben's first day of preschool at The Children's learning program!  Sam is in

Pre-K and Ben is in the 3 year old preschool class.  They were both so very excited to be going to school!  At last!  They have a full day beginning at  9 and lasting until 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   

 

 

Sam was super excited about his new Batman book bag!  Sam has aspirations to become a cowboy when he grows up so that "he can roundup cows".

 

Ben was happy to have his new football book bag!  Ben wants to be a cowboy also when he grows up, because "he wants to roundup sharks"!

Bus stop

Our morning bus stop routine has become easier after a week.  This was on Tuesday, Sam and Ben's first day of school.  We all walked Nick down to the bus and Ben was ready to get on the bus with Nick and go to kindergarten!  He was missing one thing, clothes!  He was still in his pj's! 

 

Car Wash

 

Last Sunday we lined up the cars for a home car wash with the boys' help!  I'm not sure which was more wet in the end, the cars or the boys!

 

Don't forget the cozy coupe!

Spraying the hose is definitely the best part of washing the car!

Indiana State Fair

This past weekend Grandma Bonnie came for a visit.  We all enjoyed a day at the Indiana State Fair together!

The boys participated in the Little Hands on the Farm where they pretended to be farmers harvesting crops, driving tractors and other fun farm things.

Time for a cool down after all of that hot and tiring farming!  Nick and Sam loved running through the misters!

First Day of School!

Nick's first day of kindergarten was on Wednesday.  He was so excited to be riding the bus and to carry his new airplane backpack and lunch box! 

Daddy was home to help see Nick off on the bus.

Sam wanted to bring his book bag too, just so everyone on the bus would know that he goes to school, too! (he and Ben's school will start on Tuesday)

Here it comes!

And he did!

  He rides the bus to school and for now I am picking him up after school.  The kindergarten dismisses 1 hour before the rest of the school so to ride the bus home he would have to stay for an after school program for 1 hour to catch the bus ride home with the rest of the school.  He has asked to do that, he really likes riding the bus! 

When I picked Nick up from school his comments were- "we didn't get to color" and "there were too many rules"!  The next 2 days were better, they colored and got to organize all of their school supplies!  They were better for me as well!  I shed a few tears the first day that Nick got onto the bus.  He's such a big boy now!

As a kindergartner Nick would like to be an airline pilot and a grocery store check-out person when he grows up!
