Junior Prom for Nick

Nick attended his Junior Prom with his girlfriend, Phoebe.

We met up with Nick, Phoebe, and a group of their friends at Cox Hall Gardens Park for a photo session.  I loved seeing all of the kids all dressed up, and all of the beautiful dresses!

Nick took Phoebe to dinner at Stone Creek.  The dance was held at the Dallara Car Factory in Speedway.  After prom was held at the school from 12am-3am.  The theme was ZBlast from the past.  The school was decorated with music scenes from the past eras.
Nick said the dance was "OK, but the after prom was pretty fun".

He's all spiffied up and ready to go, pausing for a quick second so I could snap a picture.

Our friends Jody and her daughter Allie.
Jody is an amazing photographer and most of these pictures are from her!
Nick and Allie have known each other since the age of 1.

Total Eclipse of the Sun!

On April 8th we experienced a total eclipse of the sun in Indianapolis!  It was the coolest thing I have ever seen!
Uncle John and our cousins Jack, Grace and Matthew, soon to be cousin in law, all came to experience the eclipse with us.
We spent the afternoon gazing towards the sky in our safety eclipse glasses, waiting for totality to take place.  The day became darker and darker the closer it got to totality.  When totality was at 100% we were able to safely take off our glasses for the 3 1/2 minutes of totality.  Eric had the telescope set up and we all ran over to take a closer look.

What an ending to our spring break!

These are pictures from my very talented friend, Jody!

I took a quick panoramic picture during totality.
It was dark, like at dusk, but different.

August 21, 2017 we experienced an eclipse.  It was 90% totality.  We have been looking forward to this day since 2017!

Easter Weekend and Spring Break

Sam tried out and made the JV baseball team at his high school!  Hooray!  The season began at the start of spring break in Nashville, TN.  Sam traveled with his team to Nashville for the 3 games.  Eric and I went also.  It was so much fun to watch him pitch and see his team play so well, they won all 3 of their games!  The weather was warm and sunny, too!

When we weren't watching baseball Eric and I ventured to downtown Nashville to listen to live music.  We had a blast!

We returned home on Saturday night, in time for Easter Sunday.  We spent a relaxing day at home together.  We went to Mass in the morning and grilled steaks later in the afternoon.  The boys also hunted for eggs filled with candy!  I'm glad they aren't too old to partake in that tradition!

We need to work on our family selfie skills!  Ha!

This year's spring break looked a little different.  We stayed home because Sam's baseball team practiced all week and had games on the weekend.   All three of the weekday games were cancelled due to rain and very cold temperatures.
Ben and I took an overnight trip to Illinois to meet our cousin Alina's new baby, Jamie!  Alina, Mike and Jamie all live in Houston.  He is just so precious!  It's so sweet to see Alina in her new role as a mom.  We had pizza out with a lot of our family and enjoyed a night in the hotel, just Ben and I.
On our way home we stopped and met up with my Aunt Joy for brunch.  It was great to catch up with her!

On Tuesday night we went to Speedway to race go carts and eat pizza!
