A new Jeep

Mid summer we traded in the convertable Mustang and got a shiny red Jeep!  Now the whole family can go together for fun rides since it will hold 5 people, unlike the Mustang which only had room for 4.

One evening the boys and Daddy washed the Jeep while throughly soaking each other in the process!  I'm pretty sure that was their plan all along!

Golf Camp!

All 3 boys did golf camp this year at the Golf Club of Indiana.  This was Nick and Sam's 3rd year of camp and Ben's first.  They all had such a fun week driving, chipping and putting as well as eating pizza, hot dogs and cookies!  

They looked pretty darn cute too!

Summer fun with the Basile family'

Each year we get together with our friends the Basile's around the 4th of July to set off fireworks, eat lots of yummy foods, and have a good time.  This year they had something special for the kids- a shaving cream slip 'n slide!  Needless to say it was a hit and I'm sure one that will be expected again in the future by all of these crazy kids!

Backyard summer fun

We really enjoyed spending time in our backyard this summer.  The biggest hit was the baseball slip n slide, which is best played with lots of friends!

Nick has really gotten into playing baseball this summer, which prompted us to get him a net for practicing pitching and catching. 

Happy Independence Day!

We celebrated the 4th of July at home in Zionsville with 2 special guests, Grandpa Dan and Grandma Jill.  We spent the 4th relaxing in our backyard and then went to Lions Park for the big annual festival and fireworks!  Small town living at it's best!

On the 5th of July we visited Connor Prairie.  It was our first, but not last!, visit to Connor Prairie which is an outdoor living historical museum.  We enjoyed stepping back in time to 1836 to learn about what life was like in a prairie town, 1863 civil war time, and even took a balloon voyage to get a new perspective on the museum.

Nick, Eric and I were the only brave ones to go on the balloon voyage.  The hot air balloon was tethered and took us 350 feet into the air.

Later that evening the boys helped out in the garden picking our first crop of green beans!

We enjoyed our visit with Grandpa Dan and Grandma Jill!  The kids loved reading and playing the piano for them, and just being with them for the long weekend!

100 Acre Park at the IMA

The boys and I enjoyed a picnic and hike at the 100 Acre park at the Indianapolis Mueseum of Art, one of the largest museum art parks in the country.  What fun!  Summer is in full swing now and we are loving to be able to play outdoors and explore a few new sights in the city.

The boys had great fun racing from the toes to the tips of the fingers on this skeleton.

In addition to the park there is a 35 acre lake.  Nick was tossing his baseball near the edge, and guess what!  He did get it back and only had slightly wet toes.
