The Children's Museum

This is a rare time when we are in between sport seasons and we find ourselves with a free Saturday.
We spent the afternoon at The Children's Museum.
Despite Nick's protests that he is getting too old for the museum (say it isn't so!) we all enjoyed ourselves and found plenty of age appropriate fun!

Eric and I plan to never outgrow this place!

Besides skiing....

We enjoyed a few dinners out after our days of skiing.  We had one adventure that has been a favorite of ours in the past, a trip to Snowed Inn for dinner via a horse drawn sleigh!

The lodge at Park City, waiting for our horse and sleigh!

Look at the size of this red bulb!
Ben was impressed!

Our sleigh has arrived!

After a cold and snowy ride up the mountain we were treated to a roaring fire and warm food and drinks!  And boys who are tired of their pictures being taken!

Ben and Daddy hanging in the condo out after a day of skiing.

We toured the Olympic Village on our off day this year where we saw a few skiers practicing their jumps!  Who knows, maybe they will be in the next Olympics!
There was a neat museum and  a chance to take a bobsled ride down the actual track that was used in the 2002 Olympics!  Our crew was still a bit young to experience that.  Maybe on a future trip!

Later that day we went bowling, another favorite activity of the boys'!

Another night out for dinner at Grubs Steakhouse!

Ski Trip!

A few days after Christmas we set out to Utah for our annual ski trip to Deer Valley, Utah in Park City.  This is our 5th annual ski trip to take with the boys!

It's always fun to visit the airport during the Christmas season.

This race car thing that Indianapolis has is starting to grow on me!
The 100th running of the Indy 500 is this year!

We arrived in Deer Valley on Monday evening and got settled for the week.  The next morning we were getting fitted for skis and boots bright and early!

The boys all attended ski school for 3 of the 4 days we skied this year.  Nick and Sam were both in the Adventure Club and Ben was in the Reindeer Club.  The kids are all divided up by age, and then furthermore by ability.  Nick and Sam skied together the first 2 days.  They liked being together but were OK when they were put into different groups for the 3rd day.  The boys all meet kids from different states and countries which made it interesting for them, and fun to share our days over candy and cookies!

We spied Ben at ski school.  He was all smiles and waves!

We dropped Nick and Sam off in the morning at the top of the bunny hill lift at 10, an hour later than Ben's drop off time which allowed us to have some time to ski a run or two together before they went to ski school.

On our 4th ski day we all skied together!  The boys had been asking to ski with us.  It was a lot of fun to be all together.  I really enjoyed the chance to watch them in action and take as many photos as I could safely take!  At the same time, it was so terrifying.  They have no fears and are extreme dare devils!  Any chance they had to go over a jump or ski near the edge, they did!  They also persuaded Eric and I into going thru an area of small hills that was hidden in the trees.  We made it through with only one small spill by Ben and I!

There is a house known as the 'bear house' on a run, Last Chance.  Most of the ski school classes will go by the house, it's ' a right of passage'!'  Ben's group didn't make it that far but we took him there on our last day!

Ben and I were together on the last day on an easier run while Eric had Nick and Sam on a more challenging one.
Ben and I stopped to enjoy the views and Ben says, "this would be a good place for a picture".  A boy after my own heart!

The much deserved sugary treats at the end of the day!
Most afternoons there was a band playing while we enjoyed our treats.  We heard "Rock me Mamma" by 4 different bands that week!  Eric and I declared it the official song of the vacation!
