Deer Valley, here we come!
The kids had a week off for school over President's Day holiday. We headed out to Utah for our favorite family vacation!
We had a condo at the bottom of the mountain, super convenient for skiing as there was a shuttle that took us right to the lodge each morning. The condo building had a restaurant and a bar that we enjoyed as well as a full breakfast! We loved that feature!
After a smooth flight we arrived at our condo, picked up a few groceries and met the ski butler to get the boys outfitted for the week.
Day 1. All suited up and ready to go!
There were record amounts of snow this year with more than 50 feet total for the season! Ten more feet than what the seasonal average is. We experienced lots of deep powder. It was a challenge to ski in and really wore us out! But oh how beautiful the views were!
The boys went to ski school on Monday and Tuesday. Thursday and Friday we skied together as a family, for the most part. Nick and Sam ventured off on their own some while Ben stuck with Eric and I. Wednesday we enjoyed a rest day. We took the shuttle to Main Street in Park City for lunch and a little shopping.
Skiing makes you hungry! We enjoyed dinners out at our favorite restaurants, Grubs Steakhouse and Loco Lizard, and tried a few new places as well including the Fireside Grill. This was such a unique experience and quite delicious! The ski lodge where we schlep through with our ski boots on at lunch time was transformed into a candle lit, romantic dining experience. Each fire place had a different course for the meal, some of which was made on the fire. We enjoyed freshly melted raclette cheese, roast beef, trout and an amazing desert selection, just to name a few.
Until next year D.V.....
