Chicago!

The boys and I made a road trip to the Chicago area to visit my college roommate Meg, and her daughter Sarah.  We also got to meet and play with their adorable dog.  Our plan was to take in a White Sox game, but the weather didn't cooperate and the game was rained out.  But, it wasn't too rainy to go downtown and play on Navy Pier for the evening!  It was so much fun to take Nick, Sam and Ben to the city, Sarah and Meg were perfect tour guides.  We had a very sweet dinner at the Sugar Factory and then walked around Navy Pier.  

It's always good for the soul to meet up with old friends!  

 

Summer fun!

This week was full of baseball, fun on the boat and celebrating Father's Day.  

Sam had a specially signed baseball for Eric on Father's Day. 

Father's Day was filled with baseball games.  We came home and grilled Eric's favorite, ribeye steaks and enjoyed an evening in the pool! 

The annual all boys Father's Day golf outing was a miniature golf outing instead, and included me!  We tried out a new mini golf joint, Birdies.  It was a super fun afternoon! 

Camp week

Eric joined Ben at camp for the second half of the week.  He sent pictures to me, showing me that Ben was indeed having the time of his life!  

Eric reported that Boy Scout Camp was a lot easier on the adults than Cub Scout Camp!  

Nick, Sam and I went to visit Grampa while the other 2 were at camp.  My dad and I have a standing date to get pedicures when I visit.  Its a very relaxing experience for my dad!  The rest of the time we helped out with some yard work and planting flowers, and just enjoyed being with Grampa.

 

On Thursday night Nick and I found ourselves alone for dinner.  We took Ruby and had dinner and listened to the live music on the patio at Cobblestone in our village.  Ruby was a perfectly behaved pup! We walked to Lions park after to pick up Sam from his baseball practice.  What a pleasant evening!   

 

What a weekend!

We had a full weekend with soccer and baseball games on both Saturday and Sunday.  I always enjoy watching our boys playing their sports, always giving it their all! 

We snuck in a sunset cruise and dinner out with our friends Dave and Debbie.  What a beautiful night out on the boat!  And even better company!

 

Sunday morning Ben took off for a week of Boy Scout camp at Camp Ransburg.  Goodbye Ben!  We will miss you!  He was so excited to go!

 

26 years of marriage!

Happy Anniversary to us!  

We celebrated with a dinner out at one of our favorite places, Noah Grants.  

26 years!  Can't wait to see what the next 26 years bring!

 

Cincinnati

The boys and I kicked off the summer with a road trip to Cincinnati to visit with our friends that moved from our neighborhood recently.  It was so good to see Mary and Minna, meet their new puppy and see their gorgeous new home!  

They took us to lunch at a burger place that had sand volley ball courts and then met up with us at the Newport Aquarium the next morning.  We look forward to more visits with them in the future!!

 

The boys and I stayed at a hotel across the river in Kentucky.  We walked over the bridge to the Reds game, and back across again after the game.  It was dark by then which made for a thrilling walk! 

The game was crazy!  There were so many home runs hit near our seats in the outfield.  Unfortunately they were hit by the away team, the Phillies, but it was still a lot of fun!  

 

Boating season has begun!

Eric and I put the boat into the water this week.  Here we go!  Bring on summer!  

Our first outing was also Ruby's first time on the boat, and judging by her smile, I'd say she likes it! 

And, look who's piloting the boat!!
