Nashville Express

A trip to Nashville is not complete without riding the Nashville Express! Sam seems to lulled to sleep by the sounds of the rails. The same thing happened the last time we rode this train 2 years ago!

Climbing the look out tower

We all climbed to the top of the look out tower at the state park, with Nick in the lead! I think he ran up! Unfortunately, when we got to the top, the door was closed, no one was there to let us in, but it was fun climbing all the way up! We also took a leisurely hike on the Friendship trail and saw some beautiful views. We visited the Friendship trail 3 years ago, too. Wow, a lot can change in 3 years!

Brown Co. Fishing Trip

The following day we went fishing! You can see the progression of the fishing trip from the pictures..... the entire fishing trip lasted all of 20 minutes!

Day 3 in Brown County

The next day we were greeted by the neighbor's dog, which the boys names Copper. We suspected he came over when he sniffed out our donuts! We headed back to the state park for some pony rides after breakfast. Nick experienced the wildest pony ride, ever known! His pony became very upset after a huge horse fly landed on his back end and began bucking! Poor Nick, he hung on and Daddy pulled him off. Nick got right back on, and darned if the pony didn't start bucking again! We took this as a sign and let the pony finish out his ride, without a rider and Nick rode Sam's horse instead. After all that excitement, we spent the rest of the afternoon at the indoor water park at the lodge. The boys had so much fun in the water. They are really getting brave and comfortable in the water. They went down the water slide several times with Daddy and loved every minute of it!

Vacationing in Brown County

We enjoyed a vacation in Brown County last week. We returned to a favorite cabin from 2 years ago to call our home for 5 nights. The boys have grown a lot in those 2 years! (notice Ben is wearing the same shirt Nick wore 2 years ago!) The cows met us at the fence when we arrived and provided a lot of entertainment, sounds and smells for the week! The first full day was spent at the Brown County State park where we took a hike around a beautiful lake, enjoyed a picnic lunch and cooled off in the pool. The boys also discovered what fun a tire swing can be!

Plane Pull

In early August we attended an event to benefit Special Olympics, a Plane Pull. We all went to cheer on Eric as he was on a pull team with some work mates. The favorite part for the boys was all of the airport trucks and airplanes that were there up close for them to scurry through! It was a little boy's dream!

Lions Park

The boys enjoyed an empty playground early one morning in July. It's so much fun to see Nick and Sam teeter tottering together!

Clean Car

Nick, Sam and Ben were put to work washing the car. At the end, I'm pretty sure they were just as wet at the car!
