Snow?!

Ruby and I agree on this latest snow fall!  What in the world, it's suppose to be spring now!

 

Happy 14th Birthday Ben!

Ben is 14!  After his day at school we celebrated him with dinner out at his favorite steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse.  Our neighbor and friend Finn joined us for the night.  We returned home to sing Happy Birthday and gobble a cookie cake.  Ben opened his gifts and was excited to 

receive a new pair of shoes from Grandma Bonnie and a rice cooker with all kinds of goodies and rain gear for camping.  Ben requested the rice cooker.  I thought that was a unique gift, but I have to say it's been very useful to have with 3 growing boys! Ben has even made a cake in it.  

The following weekend Ben had a friends birthday party.  We went downtown Indianapolis to play pinball.  We had planned to also play Duckpin bowling, but the crowds were too great and the que had filled up for the night.  So instead we went to Laser Flash for a few games of laser tag.  That turned out to be just the right activity!   We ate at Red Robin and ended the night back at our house with cake and splashing in the hot tub!  Ben's friend Beckham, who moved to Texas last summer, joined the party back at our house.  What a fun surprise for Ben that his buddy traveled here for his birthday!  

At age 14, Ben still enjoys camping and being a Boy Scout.  He likes to play video games, ride bikes and hang out with his dog, Ruby.  He is a loyal friend and looks up to his big brothers.  Ben still shares goodnight hugs with me, which I love! Happy Birthday Ben!  We can't wait to see how you grow this year!
