The Month of June

The boys and I took a trip to Illinois to visit Grampa and our cousin, Nathan.  Grampa was happy to see us and we all enjoyed our time together.  Grampa entertained the boys with his skill of Morse Code.  He still remembers it flawlessly from his days in the Army, over 60 years ago.  He coded their names without hesitation!
We also visited Grama's grave, which was bitter sweet.  I know that she would have approved of the stone and her resting place.  We miss her so much.

Eric and I hosted our friends for a special chef dinner on our patio in mid June.  We won the dinner at a silent auction in November.  We were waiting for a beautiful summer night to schedule, and boy did we get that perfect night!  Our friends the Basiles and Millers both joined us for a delicious and memorable meal.    This might have to be a new summer tradition!

We are making the most our of our pandemic summer.  It's a different kind of summer for sure.  But we are all enjoying our backyard and the pool, inviting a few friends over to play when possible.  The boys also attended golf camp with our friend, Finn.  That was a very fun week for all!

Ben is finally getting to use his super cool Christmas present, an RC speed boat!

Fishing on Lake Erie

Eric, Sam and Nick were invited on a fishing trip to Lake Erie with Grandpa Dan.  Aunt Deena and Uncle Dan went as well.  The crew met up at our house on Friday afternoon and set off on the 5 hour drive to Port Clinton, OH.  They woke up very early and boarded a chartered fishing boat to fish for walleye.  Sam was the first to catch one and the others soon followed.  They fished for about 4 hours, cleaned up and headed home. Ben and I who were anxiously waiting to hear all of their fishing stories and to start a fish fry/pool party with everyone.  They all had so much fun and are already talking about the next fishing trip with Grandpa!
And, the fish was delicious!  Eric did the cooking.  He fried some of the walleye and grilled some, too.

25 years! Happy Anniversary to us!

25 years ago on June 3rd we both said "I do", and we'd say it again a million times!

We enjoyed a dinner out at an actual restaurant!  Our first one since before the pandemic began.  We will continue to celebrate our Silver Anniversary for the rest of the year with a trip to Napa Valley and to Hawaii, if all goes as planned!
