Soccer in NC

Nick is playing on a new soccer team this year, Indy Premiere.  His team traveled to Greensboro, NC for a showcase tournament this past weekend.  Nick and I took a quick flight out to attend the games.  Early spring had begun and there were a few daffodils blooming and the grass was turning green!  Nick played well as the goal keeper and was excited to be playing with the team.
We had some special guests come and watch Nick play.  My Aunt Claudia and Uncle Alan live in the area and came to watch Nick play in the first game on Friday night.  Afterwards they took us out to eat and we met their dog, Poppy.  Nick and Poppy became fast friends!  My cousin Trent came to Sunday morning's game.  It was so fun to see Trent, it had been 12 years since I last saw him! We had fun catching up during the game.

Nick's team had some early morning games on Saturday and Sunday, but that made the afternoon on Saturday totally free!  We went to the Wake Forest vs. Duke baseball game that afternoon with Nick's teammate. Wow!  That was a fun game complete with a court storm when Wake Forest beat Duke!

16 Candles for Sam!

Sam is 16!  Holy cow!
We celebrated Sam with cake and presents on his big day.  He had baseball practice and an intramural basketball game to play in that night.  On the weekend we all went to Harry and Izzy's for a delicious steak dinner.
Sam continues to have a love for baseball, being a lefty has an advantage as a pitcher!  This past year he has been working hard at improving his pitching skills, spending time at the gym and eating a lot! He has also been practicing his driving and is looking forward to getting his license in 3 months!  His Dad and I are looking forward to Sam getting his license, too as he is always on the go!
Sam is a loyal friend and supportive brother.  He is always willing to help out in our family when asked and is fun to be with.  I look forward to watching Sam on the pitcher's mound this spring and watching him continue to grow and mature into a young man.

Snowy day

We have had a very mild winter.  We had a pretty snowfall this week of about 3".  Ruby was pretty excited about the snow!
