The month of May

The month of May is a fun and crazy month for our family!
Here is a glimpse into what we were up to.

Sam and Ben and I rode our bikes to school for Bike to School day. So fun!

We met up with 2 friends along the way!

Sam and Ben were in their elementary school's spring play, Toy School.  Sam was a puzzle piece and Ben was a stuffed animal, a shark!
While Ben didn't have any speaking lines he sure liked being a part of the production with his buddies!
Sam had a couple of lines and did an excellent job with them.  He also liked being with his buddies for all of the rehearsals!

Nick, serenading me with his baritone on Mother's Day.  What a treat!

3rd graders learn all about local history, taught by a parent volunteer, me!  I had the pleasure of teaching Nick and Sam's 3rd grade class as well.  I would go into the classroom each month and share with the class a bit of Zionsville history that I learned from the local historical museum.  The grand finale of the year is a tour of our charming downtown where we share with the kids the history of the buildings and historical sites.  It was so much fun to be a part of the kids' education!

Nick had a spring band concert for our listening pleasure.  I am so impressed with the 5th grade band and how well they all play together!
Nick also was a member of the Eagle Jazz Band.  He met with the band before school 2 times a week to play.

The proud musicians!  Nick and our neighbor and friend, Finn.

Sam and I at Field Day.  I volunteered and got to see the kids in action having a fun and competitive day!

Sam, AKA Jim Davis.  The 4th graders participate in a Hoosier Wax Museum.  They choose a famous Hoosier, do their research, and then present their life stories to anyone that comes to visit them at their museum.  A step on their button brings the Hoosier to life.
This just might be my favorite project the kids do in elementary school!

Last day of school!
Just as exciting as the first day!

See ya' later Eagle Elementary!  It's been real!
Sam is off to middle school!

Cub Scouts is a big part of our lives.
Ben sailing his rain gutter regatta.

The couple that Scouts together....

The boys played together in a Showcase Memorial Day weekend tournament.  Sam played on Nick's team when they were short a few players.
Nick is on third base calling out "Bring me home Sam".  And Sam did.  Eric and I were so proud of those 2 and how well they played as a team.  This was a game we will remember for a long time!

Sam, playing his favorite position.

Our local park is the best!  Nick is updating the scoreboard with a couple of buddies.

And the month of May wouldn't be complete without the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indy 500! It was Sam and I's first time attending the race, but won't be our last!  It was really hot that day but we didn't let that ruin our fun.

Will Power came in first.  Sam had been rooting for him all day.

Family Visits

Late April was filled with baseball and a visit from Aunt Ellen and her family!

Sam's fans at his baseball game!  The fans stuck around to cheer on Nick at his game that followed Sam's.

Our newest family member, Jaxon came for a visit and snuggles with his greatest Aunt Karen!

I had the pleasure of taking senior pictures of our cousin, Nathan.
Such a handsome young man!

I love this one!
