Nick, Sam and Ben have become great travelers. It's amazing how well a portable DVD player and a whole lot of snacks can entertain them!

Staten Island Ferry
Nick and Sam had a request to ride on a boat while we were on vacation so we took cousin Brandon along and all rode the Staten Island Ferry to Manhattan. What a fun boat ride! We sailed past the Statue of Liberty and saw the beautiful sky line as well as a few other boats and helicopters flying around. Once we arrived downtown, the boys were in awe over all the tall buildings. We had lunch from a hot dog vendor in Battery Park and of course, ice cream for dessert. We saw a couple of people dressed like the Statue of Liberty posing for photo ops, but no one in our group wanted any part of that! Then we made our way back to the ferry and home again to the beach. All 4 boys crashed out on the way back home. Mission accomplished!
Beach fun
We spent most of the week on the beach building sand castles, surfing and just having fun. There were lots of horseshoe crabs to see and Nick was even brave enough to touch one. The best part of the week was getting to spend lots of time with the boys' cousins Brandon and Jonathan. It's tough to top a playmate who's also your cousin. The boys had so much fun together!
The Big Apple
Last week we took a family vacation out to New York. We spent a week on the beach of Breezy Point in a beach house. The boys were so excited to be staying in a real beach house! Our week started out by surprising Aunt Jessica and wishing her a Happy Birthday! Uncle Kevin planned the perfect surprise birthday party for Jessica and pulled it off flawlessly. The boys got to see Grandma Bonnie as well as Aunt Angela and Uncle Aaron who also came to the party from Illinois.
