More fun in the snow!

Hooray for snow days!   

Although these days the kids have e-days instead of the free snow day that we got to enjoy as kids.  Their school day is from home, with their assignments all available by 9am for the kids to complete on their own time.  

They all got right to their work and were all done by lunch time, which left the afternoon open to play in the snow.  

Sam also had his buddy Tim over to sled. 

The following Saturday we took the boys and Ruby to the golf course to meet up with friends to sled.  While I didn't get any pictures of the boys, I got a cute one of Ruby.  She's smiling here, but she really wasn't a fan of sledding down the hill!  But she did enjoy being really close to us, nevertheless! 

 

Lucky #13 for Sam!

Happy 13th Birthday Sam!

Lucky for Sam his birthday was on President's Day and he had the day off of school!  Lucky again, we had a big snow storm on his special day!  We had close to 10 inches of snow fall late Monday into Tuesday morning.  

Sam requested take out Mexican for his Birthday dinner. 

He opened his gifts after supper.  He was pretty excited about this Packer's mini helmet.  He also received a lot of baseball stuff, socks, belt and sunglasses.  

The big gift came the week before, he picked out a fancy gaming chair!

Before cake the boys and I went outside to play in the snow!  Wow!  It was so deep!!

Sam is now a teenager!  He has a passion for playing baseball and following the Green Bay Packers.  He plays the piano quite well, although it's not his most favorite thing to do.  Sam loves to play video games and connect with his buddies this way, playing online together.  Since the pandemic, it's the new way to keep in touch with friends.  He is always willing to help out when asked and is a delight to be with!  Sam  has a "good head on his shoulders".  He is thoughtful in his actions and responses and is a loyal brother and friend. 

 

Braces on, Braces off!

Nick got his braces off!  It's been 2 years of straightening, (and a lot of complaining!)

Sam got his bottom braces on today.  (He got his top braces on in early November.)

The orthodontist office knows us quite well!

Sam got his baseball practice jersey.  Even though it's only early February, we are looking forward to spring baseball!  Sam has been practicing all winter, preparing for a fun baseball season.

 

First snowfall!

We had our first measurable snow fall of the season this week.  Ruby and the boys were in heaven!  There was lots of sledding, snowball catching and even a snow football game in our yard this weekend!

Nick went with friends to shovel driveways in our town's village.  They were out for nearly 8 hours shoveling and playing in the snow.  Nick came home hungry and tired and also had a wad of cash in his pocket!  I was very proud of him for his entrepreneurial skills!
