Post Christmas Fun

The days after Christmas we enjoyed Indy and being home with our family.

The Children's Museum, always a favorite!

Eric's 47th Birthday!

A Cub Scout tour of the operating room at the hospital where Eric works.

Racing go carts!

The Indy Auto Show to round out the fun!
Nick and Sam ventured off together leaving all the photo ops for Ben.  He didn't seem to mind that too much!

Merry Christmas!

We spent Christmas Eve with our friends the Basiles, attending church with them and then returning to their home for some holiday cheer!  But before we left home the boys opened their first gifts, new pairs of pjs!

The snow was falling as we left mass.  It was the makings of a white Christmas!

Chris and Tory, all grown up!  They were just 7 and 4 when we first moved to Indy.

The silence of Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning.

Anything but silent!

We also celebrated Ruby and Louise's 4th birthday on Christmas day!

Christmas with the Horn family

We hosted Christmas for the Horn family this year. Grandma Bonnie, Uncle Aaron and Uncle Dan and all of their families came for a night to celebrate Christmas.  It was so much fun to have everyone here.  We ate and drank well and exchanged a few gifts, too!

Winterlights at the Art Museum

We visited the art museum for the Winterlights exhibit.  It was so beautiful!  The lights were set to music around the outdoor gardens and Lilly House.  We enjoyed a cup of hot cocoa and soaked in the calmness and beauty of the night!
School is out for winter break now!

The Lilly house was open for tours as well.  The boys especially enjoyed this classic car in the garage.

Go Dawgs!

We took in a Butler Bulldogs basketball game in the famous Hinkle Fieldhouse, where the movie Hoosiers was filmed!
The Bulldogs won pretty handily.

As we walked back to our car after the game, the boys took advantage of the lit football field and had a little scrimmage, aka a tackle session!

Meeting Baby Jaxon

We have a new baby in the family and I am a Great Aunt! or Greatest Aunt, as I like to call myself!
The boy's cousin Angela had baby Jaxon in late November and we were all so excited to meet him at our Schraufnagel family Christmas.

Great Grama!

Fall Basketball

The boys all played basketball this fall.
Sam and Ben were on the same team coached by Eric.
We spend our Saturday mornings during the months of October-December sitting on bleachers cheering on the boys while they play!

Ben enjoys the social part of basketball just as much as the playing part.  His good buddy was also on his team this season!

Supper with Santa

We tried something new this year.  Instead of our tradition of Breakfast with Santa at the Zoo, we had supper instead at the Indiana State Museum.  It was a fun change for all of us!
After greeting Santa and Mrs. Claus we enjoyed a little supper and then wandered around the museum.

King Ben!

Then it was time to meet face to face with the man in red and get down to business!

It happened to also be the premiere of Star Wars The Last Jedi, and the movie was showing at the Imax theatre at the museum.  There were all kinds of droids and other characters wandering around.  Such a fun surprise!

As our boys grow, Eric and I are hopeful that we will still be able to enjoy supper with Santa for a few more years!  It was really an enjoyable night!
