Florence, Day 6

On our final day in Florence Nick wanted to see the football (soccer) stadium.  We took a taxi to the other end of town to check it out.  When the taxi pulled up, it was a small Prius...The driver hopped out of the car and popped up a 3rd row of seats in the hatchback area.  Prius's in the states don't do that!  Nick climbed into that seat and we were off!
A little later we toured the Florence Cathedral, the Duomo and the catacombs under the cathedral, the Uffizi art museum, and the bell tower, Giottos Campanile.   It was a full afternoon!

After all of that Eric and I found a sidewalk cafe and enjoyed a spritz while the boys did a little shopping.  We all met up for dinner at a local place that our food tour guide suggested.  It was so good!  Afterwards the boys went exploring and Eric and I wandered back home and stopped for a drink along the way.

The next morning we boarded the train for Venice!  Nick is standing by our front door.
The train station was a little nutty!  We would wait to hear which platform our train was coming in on and then rush to the platform once it was announced, along with everyone else!
